Mit Gitarrengott Steve Vai auf der Bühne stehen. Das ist für viele der Höhepunkt ihrer Karriere. Für Yasi war es der Beginn der Karriere. Mit gerade mal 14 Jahren trat sie schon bei Steve Vai live auf und beeindruckte durch virtuoses Gitarrenspiel ganz nach ihrem Vorbild. Bei diesem Auftritt, bei dem sie das Stück “Answers”mit Steve Vai spielte, überzeugte Yasi nicht nur die Vertreter der Firma Meinl, die vor Ort waren, sondern auch Toningenieur und Produzent Elmar Heckmann. Zusammen mit Heckmann produzierte Yasi ihre erste EP “Yasi Sounds Like Vai”. Diese enthält 5 Stücke, darunter 3 selbst-geschriebene Stücke und das Steve-Vai-Cover “Answers”, sowie eine spezielle Latin-Version einer eigenen Komposition, die auch deutlichen Einfluss eines anderen Gitarrenhelden neben Steve Vai, Carlos Santana zeigt.
Being on stage with guitar hero Steve Vai. This might be the climax of the career of some musicians. It was the start of Yasi’s career! She performed live on stage with Steve Vai at the age of 14 and impressed with her virtuos play like her idol. Yasi didn’t even convince representatives of Ibanez’ German distributor MEINL but also the sound engineer and producer Elmar Heckmann during that gig (at which she played the piece “Answers” together with Steve). So, Yasi produced her first EP “Yasi Sounds like Vai” together with him. This record consists of 5 pieces (3 written by Yasi plus the Steve-Vai-Cover “Answers” and a special latin version of an own piece, which shows the influence of another guitar hero: Carlos Santana.
